Pause or Self-Exclude

Cosmobet Closing Your Account

Whether you want a short cool-off, a full self-exclusion period or a permanent close, Cosmobet keeps the process inside the account dashboard with no support call required.

Help is available right now

If you are closing your account because gambling has stopped being fun, please consider talking to GamCare on 0808 8020 133 or via gamcare.org.uk. The service is free, confidential, independent of Cosmobet and available 24 hours a day. BeGambleAware at begambleaware.org also offers free counselling across the UK.

Closing your account in four steps

  1. 1

    Withdraw your full balance first

The dashboard prompts you automatically. Any leftover real money is sent to your last verified payment method.

  2. 2

    Open Account, then Responsible Gambling

All four options live in the same panel: cool-off, self-exclusion, permanent close and GamStop.

  3. 3

Pick the period that suits you

Cool-off (24h-6 weeks), self-exclusion (6 months-5 years) or permanent close. GamStop sign-up is one click further.

  4. 4

    Confirm with your password

A single password confirmation and the lock takes effect immediately. You will get a written confirmation by email.

Cool-off from 24 hours to 6 weeks

Block your own access for a short period without losing the account itself. Useful if you just need a break and not a full exclusion.

Self-exclusion 6 months to 5 years

A firm lock you cannot reverse for the chosen period. Cosmobet stops marketing immediately and balances are withdrawn first.

Permanent account closure

A complete close. The account cannot be reopened and a new registration would be needed to play again in future.

GamStop is one click further

Sign up to GamStop from the same dashboard to block every UK-licensed operator at once, not just Cosmobet.

Choosing the right option for you

There are four levels of pause inside Cosmobet and each suits a different situation. A short cool-off is the right answer when you need to step away for a few days or weeks but plan to come back; the account stays alive, marketing pauses, but the structure is intact. A longer self-exclusion is the right answer when you need a firm boundary and do not want the option to override your own decision; the lock cannot be lifted early under any circumstances, which is exactly its point.

A permanent account closure is the right answer when you have decided you are done with this brand, whether because you have moved on, found a better fit elsewhere or because gambling itself is no longer part of your life. Closure is final at Cosmobet and a future return would require a fresh sign-up. A GamStop registration sits above all three, and is the right answer whenever you want every UK-licensed operator (not just Cosmobet) blocked at the same time.

All four options live in the same place on your dashboard, under Account → Responsible Gambling. No phone call, no live chat queue, no email exchange. The whole flow is designed to be completable in under a minute because friction is the last thing you need when you have decided to step back. Any remaining real-money balance is queued for withdrawal to your last verified payment method as part of the same flow, and the team will follow up by email if anything needs a manual touch.

"Closing an account should take a minute, not a fight. Cosmobet keeps the entire flow in one panel with no escalation needed, exactly as it should be."

After the close

When a self-exclusion or permanent closure takes effect, Cosmobet stops every form of marketing to you immediately. Email, push notification and any SMS list you opted in to are switched off in the same flow rather than waiting for a separate unsubscribe. Any active bonus is voided and any remaining real cash is sent to your last verified payment method on the standard Faster Payments rail, which usually settles within a couple of hours of the close request.

Account data is retained in line with the Cosmobet data notice and UK Gambling Commission record-keeping requirements, but it is not used for any further outreach. If you later want to invoke your UK GDPR rights of access, correction or erasure, those still work in exactly the same way after the close: email privacy@cosmobett.net and the team will respond inside the statutory window.

If you have signed up to GamStop as well as closing the Cosmobet account, the GamStop lock will block any attempt to register at another UK-licensed casino or sportsbook for the period you chose, regardless of which brand you try. That is the strongest single safety net the UK industry offers, and it is free to use.

Player questions

Can I undo a self-exclusion early?

No. Self-exclusion periods at Cosmobet are firm for the duration you chose, from a minimum of six months up to five years. That is by design: the protection of self-exclusion comes precisely from the fact that you cannot talk yourself into reversing it on a difficult evening. Marketing stops immediately, the account is fully locked and the period only lifts automatically when the timer expires.

What happens to my balance when I close?

Any remaining real-money balance is queued for withdrawal to your last verified payment method as part of the same flow that triggers the close. Bonus funds are voided rather than withdrawn, in line with standard UK practice. Withdrawals usually clear within a couple of hours on the Faster Payments rail; if anything needs a manual touch, the team follows up by email.

Does closing Cosmobet block me at other casinos?

Closing your Cosmobet account only blocks you at Cosmobet. To block every UK-licensed casino and sportsbook in one step, sign up to GamStop. The GamStop link is available from the same dashboard panel where you close the Cosmobet account, and the GamStop registration itself takes another minute or two. For offshore brands, GamStop does not reach them, which is the reason Cosmobet recommends staying inside the UK perimeter.

Can I reopen a closed account later?

A cool-off ends automatically and the account is fully functional again. A self-exclusion ends automatically when the chosen period expires, although Cosmobet runs a default 24-hour cooling-off after the lock lifts before any deposit can be made. A permanent closure is exactly that: the account cannot be reopened and a fresh sign-up would be required to play again, which the team would review case-by-case.

When you are ready to come back

Cool-off and self-exclusion periods end automatically when the timer is up. A permanent close requires a fresh sign-up if you ever want to return.
